-
Step 0130 minutes
Size and shape
Find your size with the ring sizer, then roll, press and mark the clay into your design.
-
Step 0245 minutes
Dry and refine
Once it's bone dry, sand and file it. This is where a rough shape starts to look finished.
-
Step 035 minutes
Fire it
The binder burns away and the silver fuses. It comes out matte white, and a touch smaller than it went in.
-
Step 0410 minutes
Brush and polish
The best bit. A minute with the brush turns chalky white into a soft silver shine.

Easier than I expected
I'd never made jewellery before and was worried I'd stuff it up, but the QR guide breaks every step down really clearly. My first ring came out a little thicker on one side, which I honestly don't mind. Brushing the fired piece and watching the silver come through was the best part of the whole afternoon.
Give yourself a full afternoon
Shaping took me longer than I planned because I kept reworking the design. Once it was dry, the stovetop mesh firing was much simpler than I'd imagined. Happy with the finished ring and having every tool in the one box made it easy to just start.
Lovely gift for two
Bought the kit for two for my partner's birthday and we made rings side by side on a Sunday. Both turned out completely different, which was half the fun. Would definitely recommend it as a date-at-home idea.
Read the firing notes first
I skimmed the guide at first and had to go back and re-read the firing section before I started, so learn from me. Once I followed it properly everything worked. The burnisher and wire brush made the edges look really neat.
The polish is so satisfying
It comes out of the firing matte white and I genuinely thought something had gone wrong. A few minutes with the brush and burnisher and it's bright, shiny silver. My friends didn't believe I made it myself.
Already ordered a refill
Started with a small pendant using one of the stones from my set. Setting the stone took a bit of patience but it's held in perfectly after firing. I've already ordered a refill pouch so I can try a stacking ring next.
Good to know
Before your
first piece
Do I need any experience?
No. The kit is made for complete beginners, and the step-by-step guide (scan the QR code in your kit) walks you through each step.
Do I need a kiln?
No. Small pieces like rings and pendants can be fired at home with the firing method included in your kit. Always read the safety notes in the guide before you start.
Is it real silver?
Yes. Once fired, the binder burns away and what's left is 999 fine silver, purer than sterling silver.
Kit for one or kit for two?
The kit for two includes enough clay and tools for two people to make at the same time. It's a great choice for a date, a friend or a family afternoon.
